Indian cooking is one of the few cuisines where vegetarians and vegans are not an afterthought - a large part of the tradition is plant-based by default. Our Vegetarian Dishes section runs to twenty items, and several are fully vegan.

Naturally Vegan Dishes on Our Menu

Channa Masala - white chickpeas in a spiced tomato and onion gravy - is vegan as we make it, and it is the dish we point first-time vegan guests toward. Aloo Gobi, potato and cauliflower cooked dry with turmeric and cumin, is another that needs no substitution.

Daal Tadka is a yellow lentil curry finished with a tempering of cumin and spice. Jeera Aloo, Mix Vegetables, Okra Masala, Mushroom Masala and our Veggie Coconut Curry round out the naturally plant-based options. For rice, Basmati Rice, Jeera Rice and a vegetable Biryani all work.

Please tell us when you order that you need a dish prepared vegan. Several of our curries are finished with cream or butter by default and our kitchen can adjust - but only if we know.

For Vegetarians: The Paneer Section

If you eat dairy, paneer opens up the rest of the menu. Butter Paneer, Shahi Paneer and Paneer Tikka Masala sit on the creamy end. Kadai Paneer brings capsicum and a drier, sharper masala. Palak Paneer folds cheese into spinach, and Handi Paneer is cooked in a traditional clay pot with aromatic spices and vegetables.

On the starter side, Paneer Pakora, Paneer Tikka, Vegetable Pakora, Chili Gobi, Chili Mushrooms and Veggie Spring Rolls are all vegetarian. Dahi Bhalla and Chaat Papadi are the ones to order if you want something cold, tangy and different.

Daal Makhani and Veggie Korma are the two vegetarian dishes most often ordered by tables that are not vegetarian - which is usually a good sign.

Vegan, Vegetarian and Celiac Friendly Together

Plenty of guests are managing more than one requirement at once. Our menu clearly labels Celiac Friendly items, and many of our vegan dishes - Channa Masala, Aloo Gobi, Jeera Aloo - are naturally gluten free when served with rice instead of naan.

Cross-contamination matters, so the kitchen uses separate preparation areas, utensils and cooking equipment for Celiac Friendly orders. If you are ordering for someone with celiac disease, say so at the time of ordering rather than on arrival.
